Perbedaan Will dan Be going to

WILL VS BE GOING TO

Will dan Be going to adalah bagian dari sekian banyak Verb/kata kerja dan keduanya masuk kedalam Verb/kata kerja yang diistilahkan dengan sebutan kata kerja bantu (Auxiliary verb) yang berupa modal auxiliary. Will dan Be going to sering sekali digunakan pada tenses future.

  • Be going to digunakan ketika seseorang mengekspresikan sebuah rencana yang sudah tersusun sebelumnya, dalam artian rencana tersebut sudah tersusun atau terencana sebelumnya.

Contoh:

I talked to Bob yesterday. He is tired of taking the bus to work. He is going to buy a car. that is what he told me.

sedangkan 
  • Will digunakan ketika seseorang mengekpresikan sebuah rencana yang munculnya secara tiba-tiba atau menunjukkan kerelaan (willingness).
Contoh:
Ann: I do not understand the topic.
Jhon: Ask your teacher about it. He will help you.

  • Be going to atau will bisa juga menyatakan atau mengekspresikan sebuah prediksi  dimana orang tersebut meyakini bahwa hal tersebut akan terjadi pada masa depan.

Contoh:
According to the weather report, it will be cloudy tomorrow.
According to the weather report, it is going to be cloudy tomorrow.
