phrase is a word group with noun as its head. According to Jackson (1985), the English
noun phrase (NP) is potentially constructed by
a pre-modifier, a head, and a post-modifier. A noun phrase may also consist of
determiner, an adjective, or a noun as
modifier, and a noun as a head.
e.g., a clever student, the young man, the good character, the table’s leg, many diligent workers, the good island, the pretty woman, some intelligent person.

🌺Determiner
a determiner is a word that introduces a noun. It always comes before a noun, not after, and it also comes before any other adjectives used to describe the noun.
Determiners have two main functions: Referring and Quantifying.
- 'Referring' means showing us who or what the noun is pointing to or talking about. The most common types of determiners which we use for referring are articles, possessives and demonstratives:
